Two rob motorist in Henrico
A man was robbed at gunpoint early yesterday morning in what Henrico County police are calling a highway robbery.
The robbery took place about 1:45 a.m. after the victim drove up to a bank machine at the Shoppes at CrossRidge, off Staples Mill Road north of Hungary Road in Glen Allen.
The bank machine wasn't working, and the man drove out of the shopping center, said Henrico police Lt. Doug Barker.
The victim was stopped at Staples Mill and Warren roads, when another vehicle bumped his from behind, Barker said.
One robber got out of the car, which was described as a late 1990s model green Acura, and approached the victim's vehicle. A second man, armed with a handgun, also got out of the Acura and approached.
The first robber demanded cash and took some from the victim's vehicle, Barker said.
The robbers then told the man to leave, and he complied. He wasn't injured.
One of the robbers is described as a black man who is about 5-foot-9 or 5-foot-10 and about 230 pounds. He was said to be about 24 to 26 years old and have short black hair and a goatee. He was wearing a white shirt under a black jacket and blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
The other robber was said to be an Asian man of about the same age who is about 5-foot-8 and 190 pounds. He has short black hair and was wearing a black shirt and dark blue jeans.
