When Richmond police responded to a burglary call Saturday at 9:39 p.m., people fled the back of a house in the 1600 block of Monteiro Avenue, leading to a foot pursuit.

"Shots were fired . . . but nobody can say they were fired at the police," said Richmond police Lt. Cynthia Riley.

One person was apprehended. No information was available about others.

  • Police also report that a 22-year-old man was robbed Saturday around 11:25 p.m. in the 1000 block of Woodhaven Drive in South Richmond by two males. One of the males was armed, Riley said.

The robbers stole $180 in cash, a gold necklace and an iPod.

  • No injuries were reported when a male was robbed yesterday about 1:50 a.m. in the 2300 block of Bethel Street near Whitcomb Court.
