A convenience store was robbed at gunpoint last night in Prince George County.

The robbery occurred about 9:15 p.m. at a store operated by Wilkinson Oil in the 20000 block of South Crater Road near Carson. A man entered the store and pointed a silver-and-black handgun at the clerk and demanded money, according to Police Lt. Brian Kei. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money..

Kei described the suspect as a light-skinned black male, wearing a yellow hooded sweatshirt, a blue bandana across his face, and white latex gloves.

The owner of the store also operates an adjacent fuel-oil business, which was robbed of two loaded gasoline tanker trucks in June 2008. Both trucks were found later in Maryland.

If he doesn’t have one, a good security camera system is definitely in order.  Would also recommend that he take action as indicated to accept personal responsibility for his own safety.  The police are good at what they do with cameras and chalk = solving the crime after it has occurred.  They cannot and do not protect you.

He need to seek some type of security for his business, although he should not have to, it’s just an extra insurance.
