Jillian Klein, a Longwood University senior from Henrico County, is the university's William G. McGowan Scholar for 2008-09.
The McGowan Scholars Program, made possible by the McGowan Charitable Fund, funds one full-tuition scholarship for an undergraduate or graduate business student at selected colleges accredited by AACSB International.
Recipients must be at least a rising senior with a 3.5 grade-point average who demonstrates "unusual promise and leadership potential."

She is president of Longwood's chapter of the American Marketing Association and a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma honor societies, the Honor Board, the Student Advisory Board for the College of Business and Economics, and Kappa Delta sorority.
She plans to pursue a career in business-to-business sales.
