Rhonda Kinard earns joint degree at Regent University

Rhonda Kinard of Mobile, Ala., now of Richmond, was recently awarded a joint degree in Law (juris doctorate) and Global Leadership & Entrepreneurship (master of arts) at Regent University in Virginia Beach.
Kinard was one of about 1,033 graduates May 9 at Regent, a Christian university. She will begin work as a law clerk to Chief Justice Leroy R. Hassell Sr. of the Virginia Supreme Court at the end of the summer.
Kinard graduated from both GLE and Law at the top of her class. While at Regent, she was on the Moot Court Board, Executive Board Member; ABA National Moot Court Competition, Regional Champion team (Spring '08); her team won second best brief in the region and ranked among the top 16 competitors in the nation (Spring'08); Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, Washington Chapter; Regent Moot Court 1L Competition, finalist; Regent Black Law Student Association, chair; Regent Intramural Negotiations Competitor, semifinalist; The James Kent American Inn of Courts, member.
She graduated from Ben C. Rain High School in Mobile, Ala., in 1999 and from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Ala., in 2003. She is the daughter of Billy and Evelyn Kinard, and wife of Gabriel Walters.
Founded in 1978, Regent University has more than 4,000 students studying on its campus in Virginia Beach and online around the world.
