Children’s summer program accepting applications
The Friends Association for Children is accepting applications for its 10-week program of summer activities for children ages 5 to 12.
Activities include classes on improving academic skills, learning to cook and sharing.
"We try to spice up the program with different themes," said Shekira Hite, a family support service social worker at the Robert L. Taylor Childcare Center, one of three locations for the program.
The program starts Monday at the Friends Center in Jackson Ward (644-2357) and on June 22 at the Taylor Center (565-5880) in Church Hill and at the Mary Tyler McClenahan Child Care Center (271-0590) in Chesterfield County.
The program costs $65 per week, with discounts available for siblings, plus registration and activity fees. For more information, call (804) 644-2357 or visit http://www.friendsassn.org.
