New Henrico Superintendent Russo takes office

Patrick Russo was sworn in today as Henrico County's new Superintendent of Schools.

Russo succeeds Fred S. Morton IV, who is retiring.

Russo was superintendent of schools in Hampton for the past five years. He also served as superintendent for school systems in New York, Georgia and North Carolina.

"This is a wonderful school system, and I hope I can do my small part to leading it on to the next level of greatness," Russo said, after taking an oath of office in front of the county's four Circuit Court judges.
