Virginia Intermont College receives full accreditation
Virginia Intermont College in Bristol has been removed from probation by its accreditation agency.
The college was given unqualified accreditation yesterday by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Michael J. Puglisi, VIC's president, said the college successfully addressed the commission's concerns about its financial stability.
The association placed the college on two-year probation in 2007. The college, which is known for its equestrian and photography programs, has raised nearly $12 million in three years. -- Karin Kapsidelis
