A possible hazardous materials incident prompted authorities to close Interstate 64 eastbound in Goochland County for several hours this morning.

The Virginia Department of Transportation said authorities were concerned that smoke from a truck carrying undetermined chemicals could pose a threat, so they closed I-64's eastbound lanes near Exit 173, the Rockville-Manakin interchange.

All lanes were reopened by lunchtime.
