Melissa Chase, afternoon DJ at Top 40 WRVQ (94.5-FM) said her phones have been ringing nonstop with listeners wanting to hear Jackson's music.
"Teens have been calling, wanting to hear 'Thriller' and 'Billie Jean' and some of the older generation wants to hear The Jackson 5," Chase said.
The station will play Jackson's songs several times an hour, at least through tomorrow.
"His personal life aside, music-wise he is and always will be one of the most talented people in the music business," Chase said.
Sean Anthony, the night DJ at WCDX (92.1-FM), said that "listeners are just heartbroken. Michael touched so many people's lives. Even our grandparents grew up with the Jackson 5." The station was playing Jackson's music and airing listener comments through midnight. Anthony said Power would likely keep Jackson in heavy rotation on Friday.

Agree with all here. Never looked back once I got satellite radio. I can put it on channel 63 or channel 18 and forget about it.
John Lennon shooting was much more memorable for me than this.
Radio stations flooded with phone calls? Why didn’t the operator just tell them to Beat It?
Badaboom Badabing.
Since I got Sirus satellite radio a few years back, I forgot there were any local radio stations left in Richmond.
Good to hear they are still hanging on.
If anything they should play Young Boy by Paul McCartney for him.
The headline says stations, but only spoke with station. I find it interesting that they actually found a real DJ to speak with, since most stations are voice tracked or have satellite and syndicated programming.
