AP sources: 1 rampage gun purchased legally
Published: November 6, 2009
WASHINGTON — A 5.7-millimeter pistol used in the Fort Hood shooting was purchased legally by suspect Nidal Hasan at a Texas gun shop, law enforcement officials said Friday.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case.
Records indicate Hasan bought the FN 5.7 at store called “Guns Galore” in Killeen, Texas, well before the attack that left 13 people dead, one of the officials said. The pistol has been dubbed a “cop killer” by those who have tried to stop its use.
The most powerful type of ammunition for the gun is available only to law enforcement and military personnel. Gun control advocates call it a “cop killer” weapon because that ammo can pierce bulletproof vests, and its use by Mexican drug cartels worries police.
It is not clear what kind of ammunition was used in the Fort Hood attack. One official said the store records do not indicate Hasan purchased any ammo when he bought the gun.

Its still legal to sale a weapon to a person with a clean criminal history. Gun dealers cannot predict what a person will do the gun.
This guy was a homegrown radical islamic terrorist and this article proves that he was planning this attack well in advance. Whats really frightening this guy was right under the governments nose the entire time, but they were afraid to do anything that would offend him. Now the media wants to attack people that can buy guns legally and compare them to this terrorist. I guess they think we are stupid.
“Cop killer” bullets - oh please! By their definition all long gun ammunition, and knives are cop killers - a bullet resistant vest will stop none of those.
Blame the person, not the tool. Murder is already against the law.

All of the above is not news, but politically motivated rant of the gun-ban zealots cooking up this article for the anti-gun associated press to distribute. Shame on these people who call themselves reporters. They are propagandists instead.
So, what’s the point of this article. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. The legal purchase of a gun is not an act of terrorism what Hasan did with that gun was an act of terrorism.
