GOP’s Boehner: No more money for GM without a plan

» 3 Comments | Post a Comment

WASHINGTON — House Republican leader John Boehner says he does not support handing over more federal money to keep General Motors afloat unless the automaker proves that it has a viable and long-term business model.
Boehner says GM has avoided tough choices in the last 30 years. The Ohio congressman says that GM has to work with employees and creditors to plan a stable path ahead.
He says Congress shouldn’t offer GM any more money unless it can prove those dollars could be paid back. Boehner says anything short of that would be “throwing good money after bad,” and he predicted that GM could survive bankruptcy if it comes to that.
Boehner appeared Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

So how much more money do we give them?  time to pull the rug out from under these companies that take the publics money and still don’t change the way they do business.  Time to tell these inefficient companies and banks that enough is enough and let them fail.  since when is a company to large to go under?  what is the criterea for this designation?  Let them fail and we will survive.

I would support some money to GM to keep them afloat.
Once Congress orders the disbanding of the greedy fat cats at the UAW.

There’s no chance Congress cuts off GM. Doesn’t matter if they have a viable plan. Why? Because the Democrats wouldn’t dare hurt the unions that way. Remember, the unions get anything they want unless we can get Democrats out of control.
