To all those who supported the man who now occupies the White House, I ask: Would you give him your vote again?
-- James M. Trent, Richmond.

If this proposed health care is so good, I believe members of Congress, the White House staff, and their families should try the program for at least a year and then report back to the American people and let them know how they like it.

The federal government admits to $100 billion a year of fraud in Medicare and Medicaid. It couldn't even get the Cash for Clunkers checks out in time. Why in the world would it want to do anything with health care? Why would the American people want it to do anything with health care?

Why should politicians try to improve on the best medical system in the world (in the U.S.A., of course)? Physicians spend seven to 10 years in college and post-graduate studies. They do not want to take advice from politicians or federal officials. They will quietly opt out of their professions. Two years ago, in Australia it took six months to get a hip replacement. It now takes two years to replace a hip in Australia. If a patient has cash or private insurance, it takes one week.

If one day of unpaid furloughs a year for state employees prevents state layoffs, how many jobs could be saved with two or three days a year of furloughs?

Was it just me or did anyone else think that Jerry Lewis was not his usual self on his opening act of his telethon? I love him and his charity work, but I cringed at his sexually explicit jokes and his dirty language on this family show. His words in asking a little girl if she had read any dirty books were just not appropriate. Is it time for Jerry to pass on the torch?

Interesting that since it's not Bush's war any longer, the media can no longer find any anti-war protesters. Also, after a trillion dollars in borrowed money, who is going to ask the tough question: Where are the jobs, Mr. President?

Does anyone really believe that President Obama did not know that ACORN was receiving "a whole lot of money" -- taxpayer money? Did he not read the appropriation bill before he signed it? Maybe Joe Wilson was correct.

Democratic Party voters with some common sense are the only ones who can stop the catastrophic direction of Washington. Do they have the courage while we still have secret balloting?

How many of those without health insurance have cable TV?

To understand how crazy Congress is acting, note the push to sanction Rep. Joe Wilson for calling the president a liar and the total blindness to Rep. Charlie Rangel's attempts to avoid paying taxes. While Wilson was certainly misguided in the way he handled the situation, Rangel has committed acts that would put an ordinary person in jail. Another reason to support the tea party initiatives.

What a nitwit statement. Surely everyone; at least everyone, but one, has listened to the Junior Bush Oct 2002 “homeownership gap” speech with his push to add 5.5 million new minority low-credit first time home owners by the end of this decade, meaning by this coming Dec 31 (don’t think his goal will be met).
Search youtube for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eW9viaJatpo and listen to your best GOP president in history. Your boy.
Under-regulation, didn’t cause the financial failures, over-regulation did. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac backed up lousy loans made to risky borrowers. Who were Fannie and Freddie created by? The Federal Government. Check out who the main supporters of Freddie and Fannie have been. (Hint: Franklin Raines didn’t go to work for the McCain campaign, now did he? Who were the main recipients of campaign donations made by Freddie and Fannie? Take a guess.)
Banks were pressured into giving loans to those less able to afford them, by outfits such as Acorn, who now even brag about doing so. When the Fed-created outfits backed those shaky loans, the bottom eventually fell out.
So now, over the past year, there have been compaints that the banks aren’t loaning money out.
Basically, what the Left is saying, is that we should’ve regulated because we regulated; and we need more bad loans, to help out an economy hurt by all the bad loans.
“If you knew how the president is elected you would know that a president can be elected without a majority of the popular vote.“
*******
Exactly, as when Gore defeated Bush in 2000 before Bush was installed into power by the Supreme Court.
“Of every 100 people who voted 51 voted for the messiah and 49 voted for McCain. “
*********
The popular vote was 53% for Obama and 45% for McCain. Obama received 9.5 million more votes than McCain, the widest margin of victory in a presidential race since Reagan defeated Mondale in 1984.
If you knew how the president is elected you would know that a president can be elected without a majority of the popular vote.
Of every 100 people who voted 51 voted for the messiah and 49 voted for McCain. That is a majority but is not in any way a mandate for the Fascism Obama is pushing with his agenda.
Fascism: a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc.
Obama and his supporters are following the script right to a “T”.
I am going to guess that Jack didn’t get too much of an education.
“I would not in any way call a 51 to 49 percent a majority.“
That is just classic.
“majority of real patriotic Americans who don’t want America to be destryed from within didn’t vote for the messiah.“...
Morning Joe (R-Joe Scarborough) today discussed continuing skrinkage of # of Republicans. One parellel is relative to education. As more Americans get college degrees, the # of Republicans are reduced. Also, the radical right wing whackos discourage others (like Independents) from joining the GOP. Once true leaders of the Party realize there is no future with Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, and crazies who tag along with them, they’ll have to dis-own them if ever the Party is to regain strength.
That old “patriotic” label some nuts try to hang on themselves, while they act totallyt opposite, won’t inspire others, except others of their sick kind.
You may recall an election was held and the majority voted for Obama.
I would not in any way call a 51 to 49 percent a majority. You have to realize that all the socialists, Fascists and welfare bottom feeders voters went for Obama. The majority of real patriotic Americans who don’t want America to be destryed from within didn’t vote for the messiah.
The banks and investment industries were bailed out by Bush, not Obama. And they didnt come into any type of government control at all. There hasnt even been any legislation to re-regulate those industries to prevent corporate leaders from doing the exact same thing again - just like they did during the 80s.
Beck, Reilly, Kramer, and the rest of these shills try to muddy the water by blaming these crimes on “poor people who shouldn’t have been allowed to own a home in the first place.“ And you dopes lap it up.
The auto bailout hasn’t resulted in any government executive involvement other than a request (a demand?) for the resignation of one of the CEOs.
Im not so detached from reality to suggest that it would be better if we had let all of these industries completely fail (as capitalism requires) and let us all deal with the ensuing chaos, but government bailouts without significant regulatory oversight is only delaying the inevitable.
The health care initiative isn’t about taking over that industry - its about extending access to health care to all Americans. Im open to any suggestions, but it seems the health care industry and supporters of the status quo currently don’t have any.
My favorite bit of your ridiculous commentary is your assertion that Obama is taking the country where the majority doesnt want us to go. You may recall an election was held and the majority voted for Obama.
I encourage your dissent, but would advise you to get better information sources. The ones you use make you pretty dumb.
I think that many who were fooled by Obamas lies, distortions, half-truths now see what Obama really stands for. Many tried to label him a socialist but it goes much deeper than that. Obama is a Fascist which by definition is someone who believes in a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc.
Obama hasn’t achieved the dictator position yet as he has not had long enough to solidify his power. By his actions so far is is well on his way.
