Manassas crash kills Bumpass man
A Bumpass man died after being ejected from the bed of a pickup truck in Manassas yesterday.
Kevin Everton Simpson, 21, was riding in the truck when it ran off the left side of Quarry Road near the intersection with Battery Heights Boulevard and hit a tree at 2:07 a.m.
Simpson died at Prince William Hospital in Manassas, police said.
State police also reported the death of a pedestrian yesterday in Prince William County.
Barbara Ann Hicks, 52, of Dale City was struck and killed by a car while crossing Prince William Parkway at its intersection with Minnieville Road at 3:53 a.m. Police said Hicks was in the crosswalk and entered the path of the car traveling west on the parkway. She was the sixth pedestrian killed on state roads this year, compared with seven on the same date last year.
In Frederick County, a two-car crash Friday was fatal to an Ashburn man.
Eric Adel Farag, 20, was driving his car from northbound state Route 37 onto state Route 622 when a vehicle traveling east on Route 622 struck his car in the driver's side door. Police said Farag was not wearing a seat belt and died the next morning at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester.
