Kaine announces new regulation for protecting clam, oyster production

» 6 Comments | Post a Comment

Gov. Timothy M. Kaine announced today a new regulation to protect clam and oyster production in seaside waters of the Eastern Shore.

The regulation requires an analysis of alternatives for new or increased wastewater discharges that would hurt shellfish.

That analysis should result in the least environmental impact, Kaine officials said.

“Clams and oysters are vital to Virginia’s economy and thriving environment,“ Kaine said. “This new regulation protects the seaside waters that clams and oysters need to thrive.“

Anon… Northern Virginia is the best state in America to do business (yes, NoVa is for all intent and purpose its own state), and that’s because a business wanting to work with the federal government finds trying to locate in Maryland so amazingly oppressive that they come to Virginia. Outside of NoVa the rest of Virginia gets very little. Innsbrook has 30 percent vacancy. That’s all that needs to be said.

Can’t say it’s a bad thing to have municipalities control the amount of waste they release into our rivers. Otherwise we may as well live in Mexico or China…

Did he email it in from out-of-state?

Who pays for this new regulation??? Which bankrupy city will get hit the hardest? It’s real easy to pass new regulations on your way out of office when you will not have to live with them.
