Lynchburg congressional candidate convicted on gun charge

LYNCHBURG -- A Lynchburg man hoping to unseat Rep. Tom Perriello has been convicted of illegally possessing concealed weapons.
Bradley Rees was fined $100 in Lynchburg General District Court yesterday and said afterward that he would continue his campaign. Rees is one of three announced candidates for the GOP nomination for the 5th District seat.
He pleaded no contest, and said later that the violation occurred a month before he announced his candidacy on June 25. Prosecutors say officers found two guns in Rees' car after stopping him because of an expired inspection-rejection sticker.
Police confiscated both guns and the judge yesterday made Rees forfeit them.

I didn’t know they made a rejection sticker, but if it expires that means it’s no longer valid so the cops had no reason to pull him over. They were profiling!
All kidding aside he got what he deserved. If you’re going to carry a gun in your vehicle you’d better know the laws.

I don’t know what the GOP will say, but maybe we could ask the DNC to comment on James Traficant (who just got out of prison) and James Jefferson down in Louisiana who is going to prison.
In my opinion, it is hard to find a decent politician, no matter which party they are in.
