Williamsburg mayor plans to support Moran for governor
Williamsburg Mayor Jeanne Zeidler is expected to announce her support of Brian J. Moran for governor today.
Zeidler, who in July 1998 became Williamsburg's first female mayor, joins several mayors from Hampton Roads who have recently endorsed Moran. Richmond Mayor Dwight C. Jones and Petersburg Mayor Annie Mickens are also backing Moran.
Moran, a former delegate from Alexandria, is in a three-way battle for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination with state Sen. R. Creigh Deeds, D-Bath, and Terry McAuliffe, former Democratic National Committee chairman. The three face off in a June 9 primary.
Former Attorney General Bob McDonnell is the all-but-official Republican nominee.

The last thing we need is one politician even suggesting another politician for us to elect. What we need is new faces and ideas. The old way is like putting the fox in charge of the hen house.
