Poll shows Obama popularity slippage in Va.
A new poll shows President Barack Obama's popularity in Virginia has slipped below 50 percent.
The Public Policy poll of 617 likely general election voters showed Obama with a 48 percent approval rating, which is within the poll's margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent.
The survey showed 46 percent disapproval and 6 percent not sure.
The opinion is highly polarized, the poll shows, with 95 percent of Democrats but only 9 percent of Republicans viewing him favorably. Fifty-two percent of independents disapprove of his performance with only 38 percent approving.
The poll was taken June 30 through July 2.

R…Give Obama a chance!! In a couple of years, when the idiotic legislation being passed in the Democrat controlled congress and signed into law by Obama trashes this country, G W Bush won’t look so bad. Cap & tax, pro union card check and socialized medicine will have you BEGGING for the good old days of G W Bush.
George W. Bush stinks out loud. I mean, I comprehend the words that President Obama’s critics put together, and sometimes baseless, sometimes irrelevant, and sometimes valid, I see what they want to believe, what they want me to believe, what’s the argument to be weighed, the situation to be framed, and what priorities I should have through it all, but George W. Bush stinks out loud.
I see these polls and I’m apathetic. There certainly hasn’t been a conclusive policy situation to date, no Katrina, Enron, 9/11, or Iraq, but opinions; opinions by experts and expert rhetoricians who’ve rarely done more than watched a news broadcast, cited a statistic and threaded it together with pieces of broken philosophy, worldview, and thematic intent, i.e. the Liberal-Conservative “brain trust”, i.e. you, the chatter that seems to think, with over-emphasis on doom or success, that there’s something to be dramatically opined.
This could be socialism inside and out (but haven’t we been taxing for the common good since the Continental Congress, perhaps the word is misused as rhetoric?), but at this point, regardless of competing views on war and peace, energy and economy, George W. Bush stinks/stunk out loud.
President Obama’s detractors, amidst their inherent connections to George W. Bush and his almost philosophical tradition of mismanagement, thus lack credibility. In reverse of this, President Obama’s supporters garnish more credibility in that their dwindling opposition has none. Any reasoned step away from the legacy of George W. Bush is a success.
As we clean up the financial system and muddle through the wars and remember every September that the rats responsible for our solemn moments are still burrowing in their filth, it will still be known that George W. Bush abjectly failed to manage the Federal response throughout it all and so lost the credibility of like philosophy and support, giving President Barack Obama the political imperative in all he does.
Even Henry Kissinger and Zbignew Brezinski, the dying political realists of arch-conservatism find President Obama’s inception to the US mechanism as a much welcome change to George W. Bush’s ill-fated instincts and misadventures.
I would greatly imagine that any poll for years to come in any regards will simply be answered “George W. Bush stinks out loud”.

Godfather, no fool here, I never mentioned in my quote an empiral study;“
Au Contraire. You said “fact”. Fact needs data. Data needs empirical study. I dont have to insult you, you are doing that all by yourself.
You gave Opinion - backed up by opinion. You are entitiled to it. But dont try to snow us by saying your opinion is fact. That just shows how foolish you are. And we all know that fools are foolish.
No surprise on the Dem and Repub results, but the independent results are telling. They are the ones that swing elections - look out Dems, when you go “all-in”, sometimes you lose it all…..
RECESSION—when your neighbor loses his job; DEPRESSION—when you lose your job; RECOVERY—when Obama undoes the disaster Bush and the Republicans created.
We’ve all heard the expression “the grass always looks greener on the other side of the road” and politicians are pretty much like grass in the respect that something or someone that hasn’t had a shot to be great, or be horrible, might look a little less wonderful when actually in office. Honestly, I didn’t vote for him, but the guy I voted for may have ended up being just as bad/good, depending on your point of view. The truth is that the Bush administration alone didn’t create the mess we’re in, and the Obama administration alone probably won’t get us out of it. I’m sure some good will come of his presidency, and I personally hope it’s a LOT of good. Only time will tell.
He does scare me with his apparent lack of respect for the US values, but he might be on to something, as some would say that we’ve become too arrogant as a nation. But I personally like the idea that we’ve got something special here, and it’s obvious that we do, because the line of people trying to get in seems to be much longer than the one for people trying to get out.
I’m glad that we now have our first black President, even though I wish it had been someone more experienced, and someone that didn’t appear to be so “socialist” in his way of thinking. At least the “first black” (or in his case, the first “African-American”, due to his parents being from those countries) thing is behind us. Years down the road, assuming we survive as a democracy, we’ll also be able to say that we’ve had our first woman, Hispanic, or whatever, President too, and all that “history” will have been made. Maybe then our country will be able get back to just focusing on good government, if there is actually such a thing! I look forward to the day when it TRULY makes no difference what sex, race or ethnicity, our President is. But as long as there are people that think that makes a difference, we’ll never be able to move on.
As for now, I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Not my choice, but still my President. We all better do what we can to make whatever “change” that’s coming be good for us. Remember, when you remove a brick from a building, you’ve made a change. But remove too many, and the walls come tumbling down. Let’s all begin to build up by focusing on what ALL Americans want, and not just what this or that party wants.
I think it is funny Jack how you chose to attack my post when Godfather broke out the “fool” label before I did. I guess that is because you agree with his post and not mine. I defend myself and my positions Jack not narcissistic at all.
As far as brainwashing goes, sounds like you get plenty from FAUX News 24/7. And of course it’s all a big conspiracy against Republicans and conservatives, what a joke. People who are closed minded tend to only want to hear what they agree with. So I am sure you get your daily dose of anti-Obama every day from the morons on FAUX News.
Aww, FireFred. What a cute little bumper sticker that would make.
Good thing the far right hasn’t made it to writing actual policy or compound sentences yet.
DRILL BABY DRILL! FIGHT EM THERE SO WE DONT FIGHT EM HERE! FOR US OR AGAINST US! SOCIALISM, BAD!
Hahaha, its like debating children.
Jack,
So if all of those news sources are bogus (which they probably are) I’m guessing there’s just oooonnnee other news agency who’s right on top of things in your opinion. Who is it? Who is it Jack? Is it Fox News?
If I say something and EVERYONE IN THE WORLD disagrees with me, isn’t kinda foolish of me to say that the world is wrong and I am the only one who knows the truth?
It must be a great burden for those who claim to be the authority on truth, rather than taking truth as the authority.
The whole media, besides the internet, is corporate and exceedingly corrupt. NBC is owned by GE. GE is providing news coverage on the very war for which they make jet engines. That’s INSANE! Anyone with a brain can aknowledge that fact.
However, if you can’t see that Fox News is a 100%, bought and paid for subsidiary of the Republican party, then there is no saving you.
RECESSION—when your neighbor loses his job; DEPRESSION—when you lose your job; RECOVERY—when Obama loses his.
