Poll: Obama’s approval rate among Virginians is 42 percent

» 176 Comments | Post a Comment

A new poll finds that more Virginians disapprove of President Barack Obama's performance in office than approve of him.

The poll by Public Policy Polling shows him with a 42 percent approval rating, while 51 percent disapprove. That's down from a positive 48-46 percent rating a month ago.

The poll taken July 31 to Aug. 3 surveyed 579 likely voters. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 percent.

Fifty-three percent of Virginians believe Obama was born in the United States, while 24 percent think he was not. Another 24 percent are unsure.

The poll showed Gov. Timothy M. Kaine's popularity slipping also. His approval rating was 42-40 percent, down from 49-38 percent a month ago. U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner remains popular. His favorability rating is 56 percent to 32 percent.

The poll fails to mention how many people no longer care about this. I happen to belong to that very large and ever-growing group of people. After the liberal 9-11 conspiracy theorists, the Bush National Guard AWOL conspiracy theorists, the Duke Lacrosse Players and Skip Gates, I know how eager you guys were to discover that there’s a fringe group on the right with their own set of loopy ideas.

I’d like to see how many people approve of Obama’s Justice Department dropping charges against the Black Panthers intimidating voters in Philadelphia when, for years, liberals were complaining about some imaginary voter intimidation done by republicans at the polls. LOL!!!! You’d thought that the world was coming to an end the way liberals were puddling the floor over voter intimidation, until it actually occurred and it was by someone on behalf of their candidate.

I searched for this story again today to show someone else this gem:

“Fifty-three percent of Virginians believe Obama was born in the United States, while 24 percent think he was not. Another 24 percent are unsure.“

‘The poll by Public Policy Polling shows him with a 42 percent approval rating, while 51 percent disapprove.’

Here is a link to Public Policy Polling which did the survey. The Survey & Reports sections are interesting:

Here’s an interesting take on the health care and government interference in our daily lives:

The public option is the government forcing us to take care of other people.

Randy it’s no use arguing with the brainwashed liberal sheeple. They are beyond hope and the only way to prevail is to contain them.

Ever notice Liberals normally resort to using the “racist” card only when they have run out of alleged “facts” to back up their whining and complaining. In applying this label to an entire political ideology. This is why they attack you and others who refuse to bow down to their ideology and worship their messiah.

For 8 years liberals protested and created havoc claiming “Dissent is the highest form of patriotism” yet now they can’t stand it and are using every method possible to silence and censor any criticism of the liberal positions. The democrat leaders Pelosi and Reid even go as far as calling dissenters mobs, claim they are carrying swastikas and every vile term they can think up. This is a fine example of the caliber of those leading the socialist democrat party.

This breed of socialist democrats who blindly follow without question presents the greatest danger to our democratic republic ever seen. We are in danger of losing our liberty, freedom and constitution to this bunch of socialist anti-American thugs some of whom are represented right here on this comment section.

datony - you’re right, alot of people aren’t happy right now because the President, when faced with two choices, always (not usually, not sometimes) defaults to the wrong one.

Thank you for being the prototypical liberal and calling me a racist. You and your crew use it so much that it doesn’t mean anything anymore except you’ve responded in the Pavlovian fashion in which you’ve been trained.

As is typical, when asked to provide Obama’s accomplishments, regardless of whether it was before being a Senator, while being a Senator and during his presidential administration are non-existent, so you check your 3” X 5” index card that tells you to call anyone who asks reasonable questions and makes factual observations a racist and then, moving down to letter B, rationalize Obama’s complete failure by insulting Bush.

I gave you a great deal of facts to work with, sorry if you couldn’t handle them. You’re lack of intellectual horsepower isn’t my fault. You ought to be embarrassed with a response like that. It was childish, devoid of fact and it doesn’t take into account that people like me don’t care that you think we’re racist - we know that you think it’s an effective way to either shut people up or change the subject. Despite having that “leveraged anger act” down to a T, it’s completely unpersuasive.

wow “Randy” ...you never cease to amaze me lol lmao….you still fail to realize that this mess was inherited from the last administration…i love the fact the you are going out of your way to try to justify things…however, regardless of your personal opinion, the fact is that a lot of americans aren’t happy right now…im not talkin those racist, ignorant, money hungry individuals such as yourself…im talkin about those ‘real’ americans, the people that are the backbone of this country….thank god virginia is not a representation of the entire country ....

The U.S. unemployment rate averaged 4.7% from 2001-2007. This compares with a 5.2% average rate during President Clinton’s term of office, and was well below the euro zone average of 8.3% since 2000. Wow, that’s some kind of rape for 7 years, huh?

Hey, didn’t Obama vote for then “inherit” the fall out from TARP? Looks like, datony, it was a gang rape and Obama was second in line.

So, let’s perform a critical review of Obama’s attempt to clean up George Bush’s mess. What has Obama done that has cleaned up any mess? We still have the Patriot Act, the unemployment rate went from 7.2% under Bush to almost 10% under Obama, he and the democrat congress (which has been in power since January 2007) are discussing a variety of taxes to place on the American people (oooo that’s smart during an economic downturn), on top of the Patriot Act, now the White House is developing a “fishy” database so they can identify subversives and they mismanaged the cash for clunkers program. They tripled the number of Gulfstream V jets the military said they needed so Pelosi and company can zoom around the country and Barack and Michelle went on a Saturday night date that cost taxpayers significantly more than what the RNC spent on Sarah Palin’s wardrobe that had you bed wetting liberals wringing your hands and jumping up and down. Then there is the Air Force One photo shoot over New York City! You remember that costly bit of photography that ran taxpayers around $240K+ and scared half the city out of it’s pants?

Hey, now, if you show up to a town hall meeting hosted by a democrat, the union goons from SEIU will gladly assault you if you dare question Obamacare - was that the civilian defense force that was “as well funded as the military” that Obama was talking about, or was he referring to ACORN or both? When does this mandatory (although it’s not a draft!! LOL!!) basic training start that Rahm Emmanuel was talking about a couple of Sundays ago for this civilian defense force? I mean, from the looks of things, SEIU reps, moonlighting from their jobs as event staff at the local civic arena, seem to be well trained already. Just askin’.

So, just what has Obama done right so far? I hear you guys grunting like a constipated moose about Bush, but, you don’t have any good news to report about Obama other than he’s trying. At every turn, you guys defend every stupid Obama mistake with a George Bush rationalization. Bush is your Emmanuel Goldstein - great for 24 hours of daily hate and it certainly takes your attention away from the fact that Obama hasn’t done anything right in 7 months at the White House (although he’s trying)...LOL!!!! He’s demonstrated that he doesn’t know what’s in a major health care bill that he’s pushing - and he’s supposed to be an upgrade from Bush? That level of ignorance isn’t even Bush-like, it exceeds Bush.

wow….i cant believe all of the bush fans that showed up for this bonfire lol…any chance the RTD gets to slander the president to fire up you guys, believe me, they are going to take advantage lol lmao..you clowns had 2 terms of raping the economy and just making bad decisions overall….and i guess since everyone else took it, it was supposed to be alright…the fact is barack is trying to clean up BUSH’s MESS, the REPUBLICANS mess, so all of you ignorant people just need to relax, the man hasn’t been in office for a year…bush had 8 YEARS of screwing over the country .....all of these problems that you are discussing, health care, unemployment, they were created during the bush administration…

ah, yes, here’s the life expectancy of Cubans:

How incredibly pedestrian for a country with universal health care.
