Poll shows limited impact of Wilder endorsement
Twenty-three percent of Virginia voters surveyed say they are less likely to vote for a candidate endored by former Gov. and Richmond Mayor L. Douglas Wilder, while only 8 percent say Wilder’s opinion would make them more likely to vote for a candidate.
A poll conducted by Public Policy Polling also found that Democratic gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds is more popular among black voters than Wilder, the nation’s first elected black governor. Deeds’ favorabilty ranges from 73 percent to 8 prcent, while Wilder’s is 67 percent to 19 percent.
Wilder last week declined to endorse either Deeds or Republican opponent Bob McDonnell. President Barack Obama and Gov. Timothy M. Kaine had tried to persuade Wilder to endorse Deeds.

Good old RTD, knows stuff like this will bring out the posts.
All a part of the plan, people.
No worries. Deeds has it in the bag.
Virginia is the Republican Party’s worst nightmare: a Bible-believing, gun-toting, freedom-loving… *blue* state.
GOP-VA DOA RIP
:)
Wilder was right by not endorsing Deeds. Why on earth would you endorse someone who says they will raise taxes? I don’t endorse him either.
Ah but Buggy Doug was a major factor for the O-man last yaer, go figure?
Wilder hasn’t endorsed either one yet because he wants them both to keep kissing is butt up until the last moment.
Another slow news day?
Now let’s see the poll on the Holton endorsement.
The last time Holton endorsed a republican was -I think _ John Anderson against Reagan, in the primaries.
Holton has not been a republican for 30 years yet the RTD runs trots him out for a non-story every election cycle.
My what a shock. I thought for sure the state had been turned upside down by Wilder’s (non-)endorsement.
