Will ‘Idol’ struggle without Paula?
The news, via Twitter Tuesday night: PAULA ABDUL IS STEPPING DOWN AS AN “AMERICAN IDOL” JUDGE. What Paula said: “With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to #IDOL. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all . . . being a part of a show that I helped from day 1 become an international phenomenon.“ How “Idol” responded: “Paula Abdul has been an important part of the ‘American Idol’ family over the last eight seasons and we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show. While Paula will not be continuing with us, she’s a tremendous talent and we wish her the best.“ MELISSA RUGGIERI’S TAKE, FROM POP! CULTURE BLOG

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. Visiting Walt Disney World and watching the hit television show “American Idol” are two of my favorite obsessions. So you can understand why I was euphoric when I heard the two were pairing up.
