Football: Lee-Davis 43, Atlee 21
Phillip Gardner finished 7 for 18 for 134 yards, two TDs and an interception before coming out in the second half, and Lee-Davis kept Atlee out of the Division 5 playoffs while securing its first above .500 season since 2004. William Colson, who replaced Gardner, went 2 for 9 for 28 yards, two TDs and an interception for the Confederates (2-3 Capital, 5-4). Chance Stone had three receptions for 61 yards and two scores, and Trefonz Bassette returned an interception 37 yards for a score.

Girls Volleyball: Mills Godwin 3, Atlee 2
Megan Meleski had 37 assists and 11 digs and Maggie Murphy had 21 kills and 26 digs to lead Mills Godwin past Atlee in a five-game battle. Karlie Suber had 12 kill and 22 assists to lead the Raiders. Boys Volleyball: Deep Run 3, Atlee 1
Ross Madden capped a near triple-double performance with key blocks at the end of game three and game four of Deep Run’s 3-1 win over Atlee in the Central Region quarterfinals. Football: No. 5 Highland Springs 21, Atlee 7
Jaquan Burchette scampered 90 yards for a score on the fourth play of the game and the Springers stayed unbeaten in the Capital District by beating the Raiders. Burchette ran for another touchdown and tossed a scoring pass, finishing with 114 yards rushing and 67 yards passing with four intereceptions. John Saunders led the Springers’ rushing attack with 18 carries for 115 yards. Highland Springs (5-0, 8-1) held Atlee (2-3, 5-4) to 112 yards of offense. Derek Hopkins had two sacks for the Springers.

Girls volleyball: Atlee 3, Henrico 0
Henrico defeated Varina 3-1 in a playoff for the fourth seed in the Capital District tournament, then fell to top-seeded Atlee in straight sets at Atlee. Katie Norris had 23 assists and four aces and Hailey Brooks recorded eight kills for the Raiders. Mariellyn Hagy paced Henrico with six kills and 10 digs. Henrico 13 11 9

Field Hockey: Mills Godwin 2, Atlee 1
Hayley Stough scored on a penalty stroke midway through the second half and Erin Bailey made 10 saves to preserve the victory and send Mills Godwin to the Central Region semifinals for the first time. Caitlin Walton scored in the first half for the Eagles. Caitlin Murphy scored 20 seconds after Stough’s goal to pull the Raiders within one goal. Football: Hanover 28, Atlee 7
Sam Rogers passed for 106 yards on 17 attempts and a TD, and was 7 of 16 for 92 yards and a score and the Hawks defeated the Raiders in a Capital District meeting. Dean Cheatham totaled 154 yards rushing on 21 attempts with a touchdown for Hanover (2-2, 5-3). Josh Doggett paced the defense for Atlee (2-2, 5-3) with 17 tackles, five assists and one sack. David Ratchford finished with eight punts for 299 yards, a touchback and two inside the 20.

Football: Atlee 33, Armstrong 8
C.J. Watkins rushed for 189 yards on 10 carries and set an Atlee school record for longest run from scrimmage with a 92-yard TD in the Raiders’ Capital District road victory at Armstrong. Watkins also scored on runs of 10 and 5 yards. Quarterback Drew Ferguson threw a 13-yard TD pass to fellow quarterback Dylan Garthright and ran 2 yards for another score.
