Guard Aaron Hodnett led No. 4 Highland Springs with 23 points against Capital District challenger Atlee. Xavier Parham had 18 for the Springers and Natwan Young had 10. Richelle Price tallied 20 points and nine rebounds and Taylor Henderson scored 18 points as No. 4 Atlee defeated Capital District rival Highland Springs. Brittany Hill had 14 points and Sydney Henderson added nine assists for the Raiders. Kyra Coleman (nine rebounds) and Jazzman Dabney (five steals) each had 11 points for the Springers, while Ty Jefferies had four steals and Qunisha Cannon had seven rebounds.
Atlee foils Henrico to keep Capital lead
With little depth to lean on, Atlee’s starting lineup held on to a slim lead last night, fighting off injury and foul trouble to sink Henrico 68-64 and maintained control of the top spot in the Capital District girls basketball race.

Beach Week? It’s never too early for safety
There’s no “Beach Week” in Connecticut. So when Karin Adams moved to Hanover County in 2006, with one daughter in 11th grade and another in the ninth, she learned quickly what the ritual is all about. When her oldest daughter became a senior, Adams attended a meeting for parents that outlined issues such as rental property contracts, state laws, alcohol abuse and sexual assault.
