Police search for bank robbery suspect  11/08/09 12:01 AM

Chesterfield County police are looking for a man who is suspected in yesterday’s robbery of a SunTrust bank at 13001 Hull Street Road. The suspect handed a teller a note that demanded money before he fled on foot, according to authorities. The suspect is described as a white man 25 to 30 years old with a dark goatee, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing 160 to 185 pounds. He wore dark sunglasses and a royal blue, long-sleeve hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black stocking cap.

Henrico man arrested in connection with bank robbery  11/04/09 12:01 AM

A Henrico County man is facing a Dec. 8 court appearance after his arrest on a bank robbery charge last week. A search warrant indicates that Henrico police were able to track Stefan R. Etz, 47, to his home in the 8500 block of Weldon Drive about six blocks from the bank because of a telltale description from witnesses. They told police that the robbery Friday at 1 p.m. was carried out by a man who fled on an orange-and-white motor scooter with a Jesus sticker, who was about 5-foot-4 and who had a bushy beard.

The request for help from the public in solving a Henrico County bank robbery May 4 produced a flurry of tips. After all, the man pictured robbing First Community Bank in the 900 block of North Parham Road was familiar to hundreds of people. Stuart Lee Davis, 61, a stickler for well-tailored clothes, had worked at area clothiers since 1979; bank cameras showed the robber wearing a dark suit, a tie and a cream-colored Virginia Tech baseball cap. He made his getaway with $2,750 in cash in a Cadillac.

Police chase down bank robbery suspect  04/02/09 6:28 PM

Authorities captured a suspected bank robber today after a high-speed chase from Goochland County to Albemarle County. About 1:45 p.m., a man burst through the front door of the Bank of Goochland branch on Sandy Hook Road, brandishing what appeared to be a semiautomatic handgun, said Goochland Sheriff James L. Agnew. The man ordered bank employees to lie on the floor. He jumped the counter and rifled through some cash drawers and escaped through the front door with about $3,000, authorities said.

Richmond police seek woman who robbed SunTrust bank  02/27/09 12:01 AM

Richmond police are investigating the robbery of the SunTrust bank branch at 3022 W. Broad St. yesterday. At 11:42 a.m., a woman passed a note to a teller demanding money but did not display a weapon, police said. She was last seen running in an alley toward Marshall Street. The suspect is a black female, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. She was wearing sunglasses, a dark, puffy jacket with a hood pulled close to her face and dark jeans.

Richmond police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects in separate bank robberies yesterday. The first robbery occurred at 7:45 a.m. when a male entered the Connects Federal Credit Union at 7155 Jahnke Road and handed a teller a note demanding money, police said. The robber is described by police as about 5-foot-9 and weighing about 240 pounds. He wore sunglasses, a dark hoodie, black sweatpants and black sneakers.

Police seek suspect in Ashland bank robbery  11/25/08 8:44 PM

Ashland police are looking for a man who robbed a Wachovia Bank on Washington Highway today. The robber entered the bank at approximately 11:30 a.m. and gave a teller a note demanding money, police said. He did not display a weapon nor did he speak to her, said Lt. James Shelhorse. Police described the man as 30 to 40 years old, 6-foot to 6-foot-3 and weighing 220 to 235 pounds. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark glasses, purple fleece gloves and a Penske Nascar racing cap.

Henrico police looking for robbery suspect  11/20/08 7:45 PM

Henrico County police are searching for a suspect in the robbery of a Gateway Bank at 8905 Fargo Road today. A man entered the bank at about 3:17 p.m. wearing sunglasses, gloves and all-black clothing. He presented the teller with a note demanding money. Police describe the suspect as a light-complexioned black male, 25 to 30 years old, about 6 feet 5 inches tall, about 225 pounds, clean shaven and with a soft voice.
