An established pattern continues for the Monacan and Manchester girls basketball teams. Monacan wins the first meeting by a wide margin, then the Lancers win the second time around. It doesn’t matter where the games are played.

Porche Bentley scored 35 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to lead the Manchester High School girls to a 57-54 Dominion District win over homestanding Monacan tonight. Candice Silas led Monacan with 25 points and 18 rebounds. Manchester led 31-24 at the half and withstood a late rally by Monacan. In the season’s second game, Manchester lost to Monacan by 34 points.
