Football: No. 6 Thomas Dale 51, Colonial Heights 0
Mike Edmunds and Lorenzo Fields each ran for two scores in leading the Knights to a Central District win over the Colonials Edmunds returned a fumble 72 yards for a TD, and Fields scored on a 80-yard kickoff return for Thomas Dale (5-0, 6-2). Airek Green also had a return, bringing back a punt 51 yards for a score. Tyler Drewes finished with 22 carries for 111 yards for Colonial Heights (1-4, 3-5).

Field hockey: Central District tournament final postponed
The Central District field hockey tournament championship game scheduled today at Prince George High School has been postponed to tomorrow at 3 p.m. because of wet grounds. Top-seed Thomas Dale plays No. 3 seed Matoaca.

Field hockey: Central District tournament
PRINCE GEORGE—Regular-season champion Thomas Dale got two goals from Hannah Robbins to defeat fourth-seeded Hopewell 2-0 in the semifinals of the Central District field hockey tournament yesterday. Thomas Dale, the defending district and Central Region champion, will meet third-seeded Matoaca in today’s 4 p.m. final at Prince George. Matoaca advanced with a 2-1 victory over the hosts.

Dinwiddie’s Chris Hall passed for 193 yards and a touchdown, and added a score on 78-yards rushing as the Generals beat the Crimson Wave (1-3 Central, 3-4). Deandre Allen notched two TDs for Dinwiddie (2-3, 4-3) on 71 yards rushing. Petersburg’s Kevin Green scored three touchdowns, and Eric Magruder rushed for 96 yards. Steele Driskill rushed nine times for 93 yards and two touchdowns in leading the Warriors over the Blue Devils. Jermaine Edwards added seven carries for 69 yards and two TDs for Matoaca (4-0 Central, 4-3). Jalen Reeves ran for a 1-yard score to avoid the shutout for Hopewell (0-1, 0-5). Demetrius Campbell was 8 of 15 passing for 140 yards and three touchdowns, and he punched in another score on a 1-yard run as No. 7 Thomas Dale (5-2 Central, 4-0) rolled past Prince George in a Central District matchup. The Knights’ defense, led by Roger Doggett (eight tackles and an interception) and Jacob Steins (10 tackles, 2 for losses), held the Royals to 128 yards of offense.
Football: Meadowbrook 47, Colonial Heights 6
No.1 ranked Meadowbrook continues its tear with a victory over Colonial Heights. Andre Coble competed only six passes (6-for-10) but three of those went for touchdowns. He finished with 196 yards through the air and added another score on the ground as the Monarchs improved to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the Central District. The Colonials slipped to 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the district.

Thomas Dale slams Dinwiddie
On a miserable night for football, Demetrick Jackson produced one of the best rushing nights in Thomas Dale history. Jackson carried the ball 37 times for 290 yards and two touchdowns last night in the cold, steady mist that engulfed Thomas Dale’s Ed Karpus Field and led the Knights to a 35-0 whitewashing of Dinwiddie. Jackson’s partner in the rout was a Knights’ defense that intercepted two passes and recovered four fumbles.

Football: No. 1 Meadowbrook 44, Prince George 12
Andre Coble rushed for four of Meadowbrook’s six touchdowns as the top-ranked Monarchs defeated the Royals (0-3, 1-5) in a Central District matchup. Coble finished with 11 carries on 181 yards, and was 3 for 6 passing for 85 yards. Domico Phillips made 13 carries for 101 yards for Meadowbrook (3-0, 6-0), which totaled 476 rushing yards.
Football: No. 4 Varina 35, Atlee 12
Varina running back Trey Johnson rushed 19 times for 330 yards and four touchdowns as No. 4 Varina routed Atlee. On defense, Varina’s Josh Doggett recorded 16 tackles, 1 assist and a sack. Atlee’s Drew Ferguson completed five of 15 pass attempts for 64 yards. Shaquille Williams had all 5 receptions, amassing 43 yards and Atlee’s only two touchdowns.

Steele Driskill ran for two scores and threw for another as the Warriors defeated the Colonials. Daquan Turner rushed 16 times for 110 yards, including a 25-yard TD for Matoaca (3-0 Central, 3-3). Melvin Trotter paced the defense with tackles. Derek Mears completed two touchdown passes of 54 and 71 yards for Colonial Heights (1-2, 3-3). Travis Holzner led the defensive charge with 10 tackles.

Kevin Green accounted for 245 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Crimson Wave to a Central District rout of the Blue Devils. After Ray Prosise blocked a punt out of the end zone to start the scoring for Petersburg (1-2, 3-3), Green (126 rushing, 119 passing) took over with two touchdown passes and a 58-yard touchdown run. Eric McGruger also saw time at quarterback and ran for 132 yards and one touchdown and passed for another touchdown. Petersburg finished with 468 yards of offense,
