Circuit Court Clerk Judy L. Worthington’s quest for freedom is a step closer to reality. Now it’s in the hands of the state from which she’s seeking independence. The Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors tonight approved a charter change that—if approved by the General Assembly—would allow the clerk’s office to be supported solely by the county.

Colonial Heights The Colonial Heights City Council last week voted to amend the general fund budget for this fiscal year to appropriate $1,137 to the police department so the agency can implement a senior citizens’ crime-prevention academy. Chesterfield police pursuit ends with 2 juveniles hurt  09/15/08 1:11 AM

Two juveniles were injured this morning in a pursuit by Chesterfield County police that ended in a crash. The two were transported to VCU Medical Center in Richmond after the 2 a.m. crash for treatment of injuries that police said were not life-threatening. Police said the incident began when an officer on patrol at George W. Carver Middle School, near Harrowgate Road just north of Colonial Heights, spotted a suspicious vehicle, approached it and signaled for it to stop.
