Can Childress team rebound after Chase-less 2009?  02/10/10 12:01 AM

NASCAR DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - They celebrated together, just as they did last year. Kevin Harvick and Richard Childress back in victory lane at Daytona. Last year, it was their only highlight in what became a dismal season. Questions arose about whether Harvick would remain with Childress’ team. Those questions persist with Harvick’s contract expiring after this season.

NASCAR: Childress shuffling crew chiefs  10/22/09 12:01 AM

WELCOME, N.C. - Richard Childress Racing will shuffle two crew chiefs following this weekend’s race at Martinsville Speedway. Todd Berrier will take over Jeff Burton’s No. 31 team, while Doug Randolph will move to Casey Mears’ No. 07 team. The changes begin next week at Talladega Superspeedway. Childress is continuing to evaluate personnel as he attempts to turn around his organization. All four drivers of his drivers were shut out of the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship this season.

Richard Childress doesn’t appear to be too concerned about Kevin Harvick’s possible departure at the end of the 2010 season. Childress said Saturday night at Lowe’s Motor Speedway that he’s focused on helping his struggling team move on following a disastrous 2009, not Harvick’s status. Harvick hinted during a television interview recently that he has no plans to remain at Richard Childress Racing when his contract expires next year.

Favre, Childress to discuss possible return, by QB, report says  05/06/09 12:01 AM

Retired quarterback Brett Favre is scheduled to meet with Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress about a possible comeback, according to an ESPN report yesterday. The report, citing a anonymous source, said Favre and Childress will meet at an undisclosed location later in the week. The longtime Packers quarterback retired for the second time after spending last season with the New York Jets. Both he and his agent, Bus Cook, said previously this spring that Favre intended to stay retired.
