Football: Colonial Heights 13, Hopewell 7 (OT)
Derek Mears connected with Brandon Brown for a 17-yard score with less than 2 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime, and Colonial Heights defeated Hopewell in a Central District matchup. Tyler Drewes finished with 18 carries for 114 yards for the Colonials (1-5, 3-6). Jonathan Frink put the Blue Devils (1-5, 2-7) on the board, catching a 10-yard pass from Jonavas Rhone for a TD.

Girls volleyball: Cosby 3, Colonial Heights 0
Cosby continued its hot run with a three-game sweep over Central District champion Colonial Heights, which was playing in its first region match in years. Jessica Melhorn had 11 kills and 11 digs to lead the Titans into tonight’s semifinals on their home floor. Gabrielle Holt added 10 kills, and Abigayle Holt distributed 30 assists. The Colonials were led by Morgan Jones’ 27 assists, and Yasmine Campbell’s eight kills and four blocks.

Football: Petersburg 49, Colonial Heights 0
Kevin Green finished 10 for 19 for 324 yards and four touchdowns to power the Crimson Wave over the Colonials in a Central District matchup. Keith Johnson totaled 190 yards receiving and four TDs for Petersburg (2-3, 4-4), whose defense held Colonial Heights (1-4, 3-5) to just four first downs enitre game. Anthony Johnson made 11 tackles, Jamal Young had 12 tackles and a sack, Ray Procise added 10 tackles, 1½ sacks and Elton Briggs contributed nine tackles, a sack and a tipped pass for the Wave.

Football: Dinwiddie 45, Hopewell 14
Chris Hall threw for 251 yards and four touchdowns to help Dinwiddie defeat Hopewell, 45-14. Drakar Harvell had six grabs for 97 yards and three scores for the Generals as they improved to 5-3 overall and 3-3 in the Central District. The Blue Devils was led by Jalen Reeves who rushed for 134 yards on 16 carries who fell to 1-7 overall and 0-6 in the District.
Football: No. 6 Thomas Dale 51, Colonial Heights 0
Mike Edmunds and Lorenzo Fields each ran for two scores in leading the Knights to a Central District win over the Colonials Edmunds returned a fumble 72 yards for a TD, and Fields scored on a 80-yard kickoff return for Thomas Dale (5-0, 6-2). Airek Green also had a return, bringing back a punt 51 yards for a score. Tyler Drewes finished with 22 carries for 111 yards for Colonial Heights (1-4, 3-5).

Football: Meadowbrook 47, Colonial Heights 6
No.1 ranked Meadowbrook continues its tear with a victory over Colonial Heights. Andre Coble competed only six passes (6-for-10) but three of those went for touchdowns. He finished with 196 yards through the air and added another score on the ground as the Monarchs improved to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the Central District. The Colonials slipped to 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the district.

Steele Driskill ran for two scores and threw for another as the Warriors defeated the Colonials. Daquan Turner rushed 16 times for 110 yards, including a 25-yard TD for Matoaca (3-0 Central, 3-3). Melvin Trotter paced the defense with tackles. Derek Mears completed two touchdown passes of 54 and 71 yards for Colonial Heights (1-2, 3-3). Travis Holzner led the defensive charge with 10 tackles.
