Ulisa Mary Chavers pleaded guilty this morning to discarding her boyfriend’s body in a well on his property in Louisa County. She’s also been linked to two other cases in which bodies have been discovered.

Md. father pleads guilty to drowning 3 children
A man with a history of mental illness pleaded guilty Wednesday to drowning his three young children one by one in a Baltimore hotel bathtub during a custody dispute with his former wife, who said she still cries every day over the deaths.
NYC suspect in possible hate crime arrested in Norfolk
Police say 21-year-old Daniel Rodriguez was taken into custody in Norfolk, Va. Tuesday night. Charges are pending and NYPD detectives are in the process of returning him to New York.

Second of two cousins surrenders to police
The other suspect in a Sept. 27 nonfatal shooting turned himself in to Richmond police this afternoon. Chazaray D. Moseley, 20, of the 6500 block of Balsam Road, had warrants for his arrest in the incident, where a woman and boy were shot in the leg by a single shotgun blast. Moseley’s cousin, Ronald G. Moseley, 22, surrendered to police yesterday. Police think the incident, which happened about 8 p.m. in the 6500 block of Balsam Road, stemmed from an earlier family altercation.
Fla. teen set on fire; 3 juveniles in custody
A 15-year-old was badly burned after other teens doused him with a flammable liquid and set him on fire, and authorities were investigating whether he was attacked because he stopped someone from stealing his father’s bicycle a day earlier.

Woman who kept more than 50 cats receives one-year sentence for animal cruelty
A Chesterfield judge today likened conditions in a cat-filled home to those experienced by prisoners at German concentration camps and said pictures of the scene revolted him more than any images he has seen during many years on the bench—including those of dead children and homicide victims. General District Judge Robert D. Laney made his comments in an hourlong hearing during which he ordered Patty Wheeler, 52, to serve a year in jail on multiple animal cruelty convictions and a destruction of property charge.

UPDATE: Man fatally shot as police serve warrant in Dinwiddie
DINWIDDIE—A man was shot and fatally wounded this morning while Virginia State Police and federal agents were serving a search warrant at a house in Dinwiddie County. State police Sgt. Thomas Molnar said no law-enforcement officers were wounded in the shooting, which occurred about 6:05 a.m. at a residence in the 10000 block of Halifax Road, a short distance from a rear entrance of Richard Bland College.

Chesterfield man dies in domestic-related shooting
A Chesterfield County man who shot his wife before turning the gun on himself has died of his wounds, police said this morning. Marshall E. Johnson, 62, died at VCU Medical Center. His wife, Lisette D. Johnson, remained in serious condition, police said. The shooting, which police described as domestic in nature, occurred about 1:30 p.m. Sunday inside the couple’s home in the 10800 block of Hinshaw Drive off Huguenot Road. Two children were inside at the time.
