Kyle Busch slams into the wall after colliding with Tony Stewart late in the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway. Busch, who was leading at the time, limped to a 14th-place finish. DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Kyle Busch climbed out his car window, pulled off his gloves and helmet in disgust and started walking back toward the finish line.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - An overheated Kyle Busch received intravenous fluids yesterday following his driving stint in the Grand-Am race, then retreated to his motorhome to rest before NASCAR’s 400-mile Sprint Cup event. Busch, the defending race winner of NASCAR’s Coke Zero 400, drove 70 minutes in his sports car series debut. He split the Chip Ganassi-owned ride with fellow NASCAR driver Scott Speed.

Gordon, Kyle Busch win Daytona qualifiers  02/12/09 8:42 PM

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.—Jeff Gordon won the first of today’s twin Daytona 500 qualifying races and hopes the victory signaled a return to his accustomed winning ways. Kyle Busch won the second qualifying race, holding off Mark Martin in a frantic push to the finish. The two non-points races sort out the starting lineup for Sunday’s season-opening 500-miler at the 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway. Gordon and Busch earned second-row starting spots. The front row was set earlier in time trials, with Martin Truex Jr. taking the pole and Martin locking in the outside front row starting spot.

Johnson slices finger during Rolex 24 race  01/26/09 1:30 PM

Three-time defending NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson sliced his left middle finger with a knife, but said the injury will not affect his driving. Johnson cut himself while in Daytona Beach, Fla., for the Rolex 24 sports car race. He had just woken up from a nap Sunday when a team assistant came to tell him it was his turn to drive in the endurance race.
