The champions from 33 school divisions will compete this month in the Richmond Times-Dispatch Regional Spelling Bee to determine who will represent the region in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The national bee will be May 26-28 in Washington. The final rounds will be televised on ESPN. The regional bee will be at 1 p.m. March 14 at the Library of Virginia in Richmond. The winner will receive a $1,500 scholarship from The Times-Dispatch and an expenses-paid trip to Washington for the winner and family the week of the national bee.
