Freeman duo rallies to win state girls tennis title
The second set in a best-of-three tennis match can be the end of the road or it can be a saving grace. The Rebels rallied from an 0-6 pasting in the first set to defeat the Loudoun Valley pair of Kiersten Pappas and Juliana Jacangelo 0-6, 7-5, 6-2.

Bowen, a Hermitage grad, has been the athletic/activities director for 22 of his 37 years on the faculty.

When it came to a screeching halt 32 adrenaline-fueled, frenetically played minutes later, hardly a soul had stirred except to leap in response to a spectacular play, cheerto the point of hoarseness and otherwise enjoy the battle royal between two of the top teams in Central Virginia.
