Devon Moore scored 17 points, including the go-ahead basket after James Madison squandered a 12-point, second-half lead and the Dukes beat Mississippi Valley State 62-54 Tuesday night in an NIT Season Tip-Off consolation game.

Senior midfielder Shannon Taylor tied one Syracuse field hockey record and broke another with a four-goal outburst in last weekend’s 7-0 whipping of Holy Cross. Taylor (James River High School) matched her own record for goals in a game and established a record for points in a season (56). Taylor, who transferred to Syracuse after three seasons at the University of Richmond, leads the Orange in goals (22) and points. She ranks third in assists (12). She still owns UR’s records for points in a career (139) and season (69).
