A Chesterfield man who used his unwitting children, wife and lovers to victimize his church in a fake hate-mail campaign was sentenced to two years in prison today.

Fake hate mail to Chesterfield church nets conviction
A federal jury yesterday convicted a Haitian immigrant of mail fraud and lying to a federal investigator in a campaign of fake hate mail that victimized his church. Frantz Cadet, 48, is facing a maximum of 185 years in prison when sentenced Sept. 29, by Chief U.S. District Judge James R. Spencer. He was convicted yesterday on nine counts of mail fraud and of lying to FBI Special Agent Judy A. Sykes.

Women testify they addressed bogus hate letters for Haitian political refugee
Two women romantically involved with a Haitian political refugee testified yesterday that they addressed some bogus hate mail for him. Frantz Cadet, 48, is accused of targeting himself with more than 100 fake hate letters to gain money and other assistance from the Southside Nazarene Church in Chesterfield County, where he worked. His trial began yesterday in federal court for mail fraud and lying to a federal agent.
