Opportunistic Goochland thumps Cadets
high school football GOOCHLAND—Using a pair of crutches to steady himself, Desmond Athey watched and waited. Next year, he kept telling himself as he peered down at the cast protecting his right leg, I’ll be ready. I love playing football. It’s what I live for. I can’t wait. Well, next year finally came for the 5-9, 216-pound senior, who fractured his tibia and fibula in the fourth game of the 2008 season against George Mason.
