Man charged with Oregon Hill graffiti
Richmond police have arrested an Oregon Hill man in several recent cases of graffiti vandalism in Oregon Hill and city parks. Chad J. Niemi, 33, of the 600 block of South Cherry Street is charged with three counts of destruction of property and one count of possession of marijuana. Authorities said an investigation found physical evidence at Niemi’s home to support the finding that he is a graffiti vandal. On Wednesday, police released examples of graffiti attributed to Niemi that consisted largely of images of bizarre faces and figures.

Graffiti appears in Bryan Park
A new wave of graffiti, much of it anti-Semitic and racist, covered buildings and other structures throughout Bryan Park yesterday, and police say they are looking for suspects. Police spokesman James Mercante said park users and workers discovered dozens of spray-painted symbols and phrases early yesterday. The city’s graffiti-removal team worked much of the day removing and painting over the damage.
