Acouple dozen Virginia Commonwealth University students are off on a flight of fancy this weekend. Kind of. They can’t actually fly, you know—life as a muggle does have its drawbacks—but that’s about the only thing that’ll keep them grounded as they head to Middlebury, Vt., for tomorrow’s Intercollegiate Quidditch Association World Cup III.

“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”: The 1992 movie, written by Joss Whedon, starred Kristy Swanson in the title role of a cheerleader chosen to kill vampires. Whedon’s WB/UPN TV series of the same name ran from 1997 to 2003 and made a household name of Sarah Michelle Geller. A “Buffy” reboot—on film and TV—is reportedly in the works, but without Whedon or key characters such as Xander and Angel.

The battle between good and evil is so timeless, it’s almost tiresome. But the clash between Harry Potter and those “Twilight” vampires? Well, bring it on. It was thought that, perhaps, with the accelerated mania produced by Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s tragic romance as Edward Cullen, the strikingly beautiful vampire, and Bella Swan, his forbidden love, that Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” series might have eclipsed the popularity of J.K. Rowling’s wizard.

We’ll say this about Harry Potter and Edward/Bella fans—you’re a rabid bunch. After one small solicitation that sought fans of Potter and “Twilight” ran in the Weekend section a couple of weeks ago, about 50 responses immediately rolled in. And they’re still coming. Not that it’s really a competition, but based on your responses, Team Potter appears to be leading the charge. Here are a few replies that we felt truly showcased fan adoration.
