McAuliffe castigates them for thwarting Gov. GOP pushes health-care legislation  01/28/09 12:01 AM

Three House of Delegates Republicans have proposed legislation that they say will improve health care for Virginians. Del. Daniel W. Marshall III, R-Danville, wants to give employers with 50 or fewer workers health-insurance coverage that does not include some or all of the mandates required by the state in health insurance. Marshall said the measure would allow employers to tailor a plan that best fits their pocketbooks. He said the mandates increase the cost of health insurance by as much as 45 percent in some markets.

Howell presents budget cut plans  12/15/08 12:01 AM

Republicans in the Virginia House of Delegates said last night that they will not support amendments to the state’s two-year budget that do not pertain to core state services.
