Yearly Elections Burn Voters Out
Editor, Times-Dispatch: The governor and state and local legislators are always looking for ways to cut costs and save the taxpayers money. I have an easy solution that will save millions: Do away with off-year elections. Why must Virginia have an election every year? This cost could be cut in half by having our elections every two years when national elections are held. Let the officeholders serve a threeor five-year term to get everyone on the national election cycle. This could be done within two election cycles and save millions.
