Ross, Anderson fall in VSGA Women’s Amateur quarterfinals
DANVILLE—Lauren Greenlief has earned the opportunity to pull off a rare double in state women’s golf. Greenlief, an 18-year-old from Oakton, won two matches yesterday in the Virginia State Golf Association Women’s Amateur Championship at Danville Golf Club and advanced to today’s final match. Greenlief, the reigning State Women’s Stroke Play champion, meets tournament medalist Whitney Neuhauser, 21, of Barboursville in today’s scheduled 18-hole final.

Greenlief grabs two-shot lead at VSGA
The Virginia State Golf Association’s women’s stroke play championship has taken on a decidedly Cavalier attitude. Lauren Greenlief of Oakton, an 18-year-old who recently completed her first year at the University of Virginia, shot 3-under-par 68 yesterday and will enter today’s final round at Meadowbrook Country Club with a two-shot lead over former U.Va. standout Kristen Simpson.
