The Mills Godwin girls tennis team coaches are responsible for two singles each when the Eagles play matches. For yesterday’s state Group AAA semifinal against Frank Cox of Virginia Beach at Huntington Park, assistant Mary Bruner had the Nos. 1 and 3 players. Assistant Eddie Parker had Nos. 2 and 4. Head coach Mark Seidenberg monitored the last two positions on courts away from the main complex.

Basketball coaching vacancies have opened at Hermitage and Mills Godwin. Health is a factor in both situations. Joe Coulter has resigned as the Hermitage boys coach after a seven-year run. The Panthers compiled a 113-60 record during his tenure. The Panthers won three Colonial District titles, and Coulter was district coach of the year three times.
