Vick SURRY—Animal-control officers looking for dogfighting evidence on Michael Vick's property may have searched too thoroughly before obtaining the warrant used to seize 66 dogs and other evidence, the local prosecutor says. Surry County Commonwealth's Attorney Gerald Poindexter said he is concerned enough about that April 25 warrant that he decided not to execute a subsequent search warrant issued on May 23 to dig up the property in search of buried dog carcasses.

Tom Lantos (D-Calif.) pointed out that he's a senior member of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which two years ago held highly publicized hearings on the use of performance-enhancing drugs in professional sports.
