Motorcyclist who died was 1 of 3 going 100 mph on I-95, police say  11/04/09 12:01 AM

A Henrico County man who died after crashing into a guardrail Saturday was one of three motorcyclists who eluded police on Interstate 95 while racing in and out of traffic at more than 100 mph, authorities said yesterday. Erwin Brower, 27, of the 4400 block of Foxtail Lane died at the scene after crashing his Suzuki GSX-R600 racing bike on the ramp leading from southbound Chippenham Parkway to northbound I-95, said Sgt. Thomas Molnar with the Virginia State Police.

Missing Chesterfield County man died at crash site  07/05/09 7:02 PM

A Chesterfield County man missing since the early morning hours Friday was located this afternoon by friends and family where his motorcycle crashed in a fatal accident. Chesterfield authorities and State Police said that Ricky Viar, 31, was located by friends in a copse of trees off the Courthouse Road exit of eastbound Powhite Parkway. He was pronounced dead at the scene yesterday.

Chester crash fatal to motorcyclist  04/26/09 12:01 AM

Chesterfield County police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a motorcyclist in Chester yesterday. Police Lt. Mike Louth said the motorcycle was traveling north in the 11300 block of Chester Road, south of Paces Ferry Road, when it collided with a dump truck pulling onto the road shortly before 2 p.m. The truck was loaded with mulch and pulling out of a business, Louth said.

Chesterfield County police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a motorcyclist in Chester yesterday. Damon Welle, 19, of the 9000 block of Lost Forest Drive was killed when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a dump truck shortly before 2 p.m., according to police. Welle was traveling north in the 11300 block of Chester Road, south of Paces Ferry Road, when he collided with the truck, which was pulling out of a private drive, said police Lt. Mike Louth.

Manchester Bridge southbound lanes closed for 5 hours after fatal motorcycle accident  04/08/09 12:01 AM

The southbound lanes on the Manchester Bridge were closed for more than five hours yesterday after a fatal motorcycle crash. Richmond police said an unidentified male died of injuries suffered in the 3:45 p.m. wreck.
