Ode to Chess Records is sweet music on film
“Cadillac Records” will introduce a lot of great music to a lot of people. All things considered, that’s not a bad goal for a film to aspire to.
However you say it, ‘Synecdoche’ just plain wrong
SYNECDOCHE, NEW YORK Movie review ½ Cast: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Samantha Morton At: Westhampton FYI: Running time: 2:00. Rated R (language, sexual content, nudity) suffered for his art, now it’s our turn Sometimes it seems that there is less to Charlie Kaufman than meets the eye.

Holocaust as seen through the eyes of an innocent
Cast: Asa Butterfield, Vera Farmiga At: Westhampton FYI: Running time: 1:33. Rated PG-13 (themes) Apparently, the Holocaust was a very bad thing that was done by some very bad people. Remember, you heard it here first. The makers of “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” want you to know these things. In case you don’t, it is happy to explain them to you in as simplistic a manner as possible. Welcome to Holocaust 101.
‘Happy’ finally beats boring
HAPPY-GO-LUCKY Movie review Cast: Sally Hawkins, Eddie Marsan At: Westhampton FYI: Running time: 1:56. Rated R (language)

Inspired pairing best part of ‘Nights’
Whoever thought of putting Diane Lane and Richard Gere together in a movie at this point in their careers is a genius. Their pairing in “Nights in Rodanthe” is one of the best in a long while. They just look right together, like they belong with each other.

High-wire act for ages still amazes
When Philippe Petit walked a tightrope between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in 1974, the event was considered audacious, annoying and kind of funny. The thoroughly engrossing documentary about what happened, “Man On Wire,“ succeeds so well because it gets us to see it as Petit and his accomplices did: as a piece of art, a thing of sublime beauty.
