Football: King William 28, Washington and Lee 14
Daryl Powell caught two touchdown passes from Lewis Redmond and Lamont Ward scored an offensive and defensive touchdown to lead the Cavaliers to victory. Ward opened the scoring with a 36-yard fumble return and later scored on a 48-yard run. He finished with 100 yards on just eight carries. Redmond was 11 of 27 for 172 yards and two touchdowns and Powell caught three passes for 51 yards. Hunter Faulkner had four catches for 78 yards for King William (4-2).

Football: Lancaster 50, Charles City 22
LANCASTER—Sedale Mullen threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more to lead Lancaster (3-0) to a victory over Charles City (2-2). Mullen completed 6 of 12 passes for 85 yards, but received plenty of support on the ground as Tiko Henderson rushed 11 times for 129 yards and a score and Sean Lee gained 84 yards on 10 carries. Boys: Essex 60, Northumberland 50
Essex defeated Northumberland in the Northern Neck District semifinals, led by 16 points from John Dille. Dille also had seven rebounds and five blocks. Teammate Reggie Johnson was just shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. Northumberland was led by Malik Shabazz’s 15 points. In the other semifinal, No. 4 seed Washington and Lee defeated Lancaster 60-58. Essex plays Washington and Lee Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Northumberland.
