D.M. Slane, former state police superintendent, dies at 85  03/14/10 12:01 AM

Col. Denny Meade Slane presided over the Virginia State Police during a time of substantial change. He oversaw construction of new division headquarters buildings in Fairfax County, Richmond and Wytheville, the addition of a new division incorporating Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William counties, the reorganization of the Division of Investigation, which became the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the expansion of the superintendent’s executive staff.

Robert Edward Davis joined the Bank of Essex in January 1990 as vice president and manager of its King William County office and regions west of Tappahannock.
