Jamar Tunstal stepped in for an injured Josiah Shelton and threw a touchdown pass to Lasuane Vaughn with 45 seconds left to give the Justices a Colonial District win over the Patriots. Josiah Shelton was hurt after throwing for 186 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 101 yards and a touchdown. His 60-yard strike to C.J. Shelton gave John Marshall (1-1, 3-2) a 14-3 lead.

Jayrin Waller threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, and the Patriots cruised past the Vikings. Waller connected with Clay Schools on passes of 8 and 5 yards for scores, and ran for a 40-yard TD. He finished with five carries for 48 yards, and was 3 for 3 passing. Brandon Wong ran for a 40and 3-yard touchdown, finishing with six carries for 133 yards for Patrick Henry (1-0 Colonial, 1-3). Gibson Vaught recovered in a fumble in the end zone for a TD, and Kenny Mock returned a kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown. Carter Neal paced the defense with five tackles.

Hunter Brooks intercepted two passes and recovered a fumble and scored twice on defense to lead the Raiders past the Patriots and register the first 3-0 start in school history. Brooks returned an interception 33 yards for a score in the third quarter then hit paydirt on a 28-yard fumble return to give Atlee a 33-0 lead. Raiders quarterback Dylan Gathright rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns and completed 13 of 23 passes for 128 yards and a score. Micah Spiers scored three times for Atlee. He rushed for 71 yards and one touchdown on three carries and two of his five catches went for scores.

Deane Cheatham ran for two touchdowns and the Hawks defense forced four turnovers in the second half to lead the Hawks past the stubborn Patriots. Behind Jayrin Waller’s 62-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Mock Patrick Henry (0-1) led 10-7 at the half. Cheatham ran for 101 yards on 20 carries and gave Hanover (1-0) the lead for good with a 4-yard touchdown run in the third and added to the lead with a 1-yard plunge in the fourth quarter.
