Jazmine Hatcher had 29 points and 12 rebounds and Chrystal Smith had 21 points and 11 assists as Meadowbrook defeated Petersburg in the Central District semifinal. Drejon Scott hit three 3-pointers in an 11-point second quarter that helped the top-ranked Crimson Wave trounce the Royals to finish a perfect regular season. Scott finished with 18 points and his second-quarter burst turned a tie game into a 12-point halftime lead for Petersburg. Chris Evans led all scorers with 23 points and Cadarian Raines chipped in with 20.

Cadarian Raines missed his second straight game due to the flu, and Thomas Dale gave the Crimson Wave a run for its money. But No. 1 Petersburg narrowly defeated Thomas Dale to remain undefeated on the season. Chris Ellis scored 23 with 19 rebounds and Drejon Scott scored 15 with five assists for Petersburg. Quinton Spain added 13 points and 10 rebounds. Andrew White led Thomas Dale with 21 points.

Ka’lia Johnson had 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals to help lead No. 2 Thomas Dale over Central District rival Petersburg 52-39 last night. Alyssa Frye tallied 12 points and four steals, and Taylor Bradley added nine rebounds and two steals for the Knights. Ashley Whitaker paced the Crimson Wave with 18 points.

Cadarian Raines scored just enough points to reach 1,000 for his career, and Petersburg, ranked No.1 in the Times-Dispatch Top 10 Poll, cruised to a 79-52 victory over Central District rival Matoaca last night. Raines finished with 21 points, Du’Vaughan Maxwell had 14 and Chris Evans added 13 to help the Crimson Wave remain undefeated.

HOPEWELL—Chris Evans scored 16 points, Drejon Scott added 15, and top-ranked Petersburg held off No. 8 Hopewell to remain undefeated in the Central District. The Crimson Wave led by one point at the half and Pedro Berrios helped the Blue Devils keep things close the rest of the way by notching 15 of his 17 points in the second half. Bilal Tyler snagged six rebounds for Hopewell, which outscored Petersburg 16-12 in the fourth quarter.
