Radford High School’s Bobcats withstood a rally by Dan River High School and held on to win the boys Group A, Division 2 championship 77-69 this evening at the Siegel Center in Richmond. Dan River’s Darren White sank a field goal from just inside the 3-point arc to cut the Bobcats lead to five with three minutes to play, but Dan River could get no closer.

Dontae Carter forced a turnover and charged down the court for a layup as time expired, giving the Radford Bobcats a 54-52 win over James River-Buchanan in the second boys Group A, Division 1 semifinal tonight at the Siegel Center in Richmond. The Bobcats trailed James River by six entering the fourth quarter. James River’s Chris Ware led scoring with 21 points.
